In June, we took care of our aliʻi at Mauna’ala also known as the Royal Mausoleum in cleaning. It is a privilege to continue to serve our ali’i at their final resting place in Nu’uanu.

At the battle of Kepaniwaioʻīao in 1790, Paiʻea Kamehameha defeated Maui forces and exclaimed these words that have withstood the test of time. Prince Jonah Kūhiō Kalanianaʻole also experienced “bitter waters” and spent a lifetime nurturing the well-being of his lāhui with intellect, diplomacy, respect and aloha. Today, we the proud members of the King Kamehameha Hawaiian Civic Club strive diligently to continue Kūhiōʻs legacy by perpetuating his vision and mission.
